Great player but a drug addict who I'm not surprised is passing at the young age of 60.

Diego was Godly there. Fascinating and cool you worked awhile in Argentina and caught that huge rivalry game there. That's awesome!

It's cheap to worked in BA..I haven't been for a while it got pretty dangerous apparently.
It was cool they held us in the stadium for 25 minutes after the game to let the river fans leave first..Boca is totally spit in to 2 parts to keep fans from full on smack downs. I had no idea it was such a huge game someone got us tickets.

I loved Pele /top 10er ..saw him play in Dallas in Texas stadium as a little kid, it had to be an exhibition ..1971ish... Kile Rote Jr was there too(not a top 10er)

Pele is simply the best. No one comes close.

Maradona and Pele are 1a and 1b in GOAT for the last century. I put Maradona ahead of Pele simply because he faced much stiffer competition at the club level than Pele. European football in the 80's vastly superior in talent than the Brazilian league. It's almost like comparing the CFL to the NFL. However with what Messi and Ronaldo have accomplished and continue to accomplish they deserve to be in the GOAT conversation. Also throw Zidane in the mix. I don't like to use championships in a team sport but if there's ever a player that carried his team it's Zidane. Case in point, the French national team from 98-06. They won the world cup in 98 then in 2002 with Zidane hurt, they didn't score a single goal in the entire tourney (As pre-tournament favourites coming of a Euro Cup win)! In 2006 they had to coax Zidane out of retirement to help France QUALIFY for the world cup! Then he came within inches and a miraculous save from probably the greatest keeper ever, from leading France to another world cup championship! We all know what happened next, and his legacy was forever tarnished. Actually I put all 4 ahead of Pele. Neither of these had player had a player of Garrincha's caliber to play with. Remember Zidane gets hurt in 2002 France doesn't score a goal. Pele gets hurt in 62 Brazil wins the world cup!

too young for sure but dude led one hell of a life and enjoyed every minute of it. watching him coach Dorados a couple years ago was incredible...dude has more passion for the game of football than any athlete I've ever seen

absolutely rate him higher than Pele bringing Napoli 2 scudettos, italian cups and supercups, and a Uefa cup ... a club that has never won a league title before or after Maradona

he is football's Lawrence Taylor ... heavily flawed human but no flaws on the field
